Townsend Town Hall Closed Today as Friday Closures Begin

Friday, July 3 — Townsend Public Library is closed today for the Independence Day holiday weekend and will remain closed through Sunday, July 5, reopening Monday, July 6.

Tuesday, July 1 — The town has announced three fall elections on the calendar: a preliminary or special election September 1, a follow-up vote October 6, and the general election November 3. Residents should watch for candidate and ballot information in the weeks ahead.

Monday, July 13 — An energy aggregation sweep is scheduled for Townsend on July 13, 2026. Residents enrolled in the town's community electric aggregation program should review their current enrollment status ahead of that date.

Thursday, July 10 — The deadline to renew for the 2026–2027 curbside trash and recycling program is July 10. Residents who have not yet registered or renewed should do so before that date to maintain curbside pickup service.

Through end of August — Town Hall remains closed on Fridays for the summer through the end of August. Residents needing in-person services should plan visits Monday through Thursday.
