Townsend Library to Close Four Days for Labor Day

TOWNSEND — The Townsend Public Library will close for four straight days over Labor Day weekend, shutting down Friday, Sept. 4, and reopening Tuesday, Sept. 8. The closure comes as the town also heads into Tuesday's State Primary Election, the first of three Townsend votes this fall.

TOWN HALL Townsend's News Flash service reminded residents this week that the State Primary Election is Tuesday, Sept. 1, a story the town has been previewing for weeks as the first of three fall votes, with a special election Oct. 6 and the town election Nov. 3 still to come.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Townsend Public Library will close its doors Friday, Sept. 4, through Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day holiday, reopening Tuesday, Sept. 8. The shutdown follows closely on the library's one-day closure last week for scheduled cleaning; library staff note patrons can still search the catalog, place holds, and check their accounts remotely through the CW MARS mobile app while the building is closed.
