Town Sets July 13 Aggregation Sweep as Summer Hours, Deadlines Stack Up
The town is moving into a quieter summer rhythm, with a utility aggregation sweep on the horizon, reduced Town Hall hours in effect, and a curbside trash and recycling renewal deadline approaching next month.
TOWN HALL
Residents enrolled in Townsend's community electric aggregation program should note that a sweep is scheduled for July 13, 2026. The town posted notice of the upcoming aggregation sweep on June 22, giving households and businesses time to review their enrollment status or opt out before the date arrives.
Town Hall is closed on Fridays through the end of August, a summer schedule that has been in place since mid-June. Residents needing in-person services should plan accordingly and use the town's online payment and permit portals when possible.
The deadline to renew curbside trash and recycling service for the 2026–2027 program year is July 10. The town opened registration earlier this month and is encouraging residents to renew before the cutoff to avoid a lapse in service.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Townsend Public Library is reminding patrons of its upcoming Independence Day closure: the library will be closed Friday, July 4, Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 7. Regular hours resume Monday, July 8.
