State Primary Set for Sept. 1, First of Three Fall Votes in Townsend
Townsend voters will head to the polls September 1 for the state primary, the first of three elections the town will hold this fall, town officials announced.
TOWN HALL
The town's September 1 State Primary Election kicks off a busy fall voting calendar that continues with a special election October 6 and a November 3 election, according to notices posted to the town website. Nomination papers for the special election have already been made available at the Town Clerk's office.
Residents planning errands at municipal offices should note that Town Hall remains closed on Fridays through the end of August, a schedule set earlier this summer that carries through this week before reverting to normal hours in September.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
Townsend closed out its summer concert series Thursday evening with the rescheduled final Band Concert of the season, held August 27 after being pushed back from its original date, a story the town's News Flash also covered when the new date was first announced.
COMING UP
Both Town Hall and the Townsend Public Library will be closed Friday, August 28. Town Hall's closure is part of its ongoing Friday summer schedule, while the library is closing separately for cleaning, according to a notice on the library's website.
