The announcement comes alongside confirmation that Townsend voters will face three separate elections this fall: a Special Election on September 1, followed by additional elections on October 6 and November 3. Residents are encouraged to watch for further details on races and ballot questions as the dates approach.
In other town business, the Highway Department completed water main flushing work, and the town confirmed an upcoming water aggregation sweep scheduled for July 13. Town Hall also reminded residents that municipal offices will be closed on Fridays through the end of August, a seasonal schedule change affecting in-person services.
The town is also urging households enrolled in curbside trash and recycling to renew their registration for the 2026-2027 program year by July 10 to avoid a lapse in service.
